Important tip

I have to keep this in mind and so I thought I'd post it here. This is an important tip from JV (a friend who do wedding coordination, planning and hosting with his group Eventus). He texted me this few weeks ago and I still have this in my cellphone's inbox:

Basta focus muna on the "must haves" tapos pag ok na "nice to haves" naman. Top 5 are:
  1. Food
  2. Venue (prep, rites, reception styling)
  3. Couture (then followed by hair and make up  and then flowers)
  4. Ring
  5. Photo and video
And out of the kindness of his heart, he gave me a wedding journal, as shown on the picture above and below. Super thanks JV! Means a lot!

Where else but in our home church-- Greenhills Christian Fellowship!

Of course there isn't a final set up/physical arrangement yet but I kind of like to have our own version of this, I want the stage in GCF to look something like this:

You inspire me!

Just for the record these are my inspiration in creating this personal-wedding-planning-blog of mine:

Green Wedding Shoes - most of the things I have in mind came from this site for our wedding. I don't know the blogger personally but I really am very thankful to her! Her blog has helped a lot of people, I know that for sure. Keep it up!

Osie Tiangco-Geanga - my close friend who recently married another close friend of mine. She created a blog where she posted everything about their big-special day. I love it and I also got ideas and tips from her.

Sheenah Tan-dela Cruz - she is my org-mate (from Gawad F. T. San Luis Foundation for the Outstanding Youths of Laguna) who is a proud momma of her first daughter, Dannah. She created a blog to document everything about her daughter, her motherhood, and other stuff that revolve around it. I find her blog very helpful, informative and inspiring even if it's not about wedding.

My friend JV Tribiana, who is a wedding planner/coordinator. I text him for tips and he makes sure that I will prioritize what should be prioritized. He gave me lists of must-haves and he said he will give me a journal for my planning and stuff.  He also said he will refer us to suppliers! Ain't that nice? He is such a blessing!

My colleagues and close friends, Carmie and Ate Rhia, who support and give me ideas on the physical arrangement and other stuff. Camie has a degree on B.S. Interior Design while Ate Rhia is one heck of a creative person who do wedding planning and coordinating as well.

All of my friends and loved ones, you know who you are! People who are very very excited and happy for our big day.

My beloved John Velasquez, of course! Before I post everything here, he already knows it. He is the first to know what I imagine for our wedding and I consult him if it's okay with him or not. So far, so good! Hehe. Love you so much my John!

And of course my Lord and Master, the One who ordained and sanctified marriage and the One gave us the desire to marry.

"We love because he first loved us..." -1 John 4:19

Thanks to all of you!

My dream gown

I stumbled upon this wedding gown through greenwedding shoes (it's a blog that features southern California wedding inspiration for the modern bride, and one of my inspiration in creating this blog of mine)...

I fell in love with the gown because I know that it will be bagay to me (fit/suit me well), since Vanessa (the bride) and I have similarities in our built. Hehe.

I also find the design very attractive because it does not have much of charms and crystals and other stuff on it. I like the fact that it shows off the collar bone and I consider that really sexy and conservative. Having mention that, for the record I want mine to be more conservative than what is shown in the photo. I do not want to expose my cleavage.

I'm praying that I will be able to find the exact fabric/cloth for my dream wedding gown. I'm also praying that my Lola (grand Ma) , who happens to be a seamstress will be able to do it for me even at her old age (she's 85 already, as far as I can remember). And praying that the Lord will provide, I know He will!

"Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart." -Psalm 37:4

I'm so excited!

The proposal

* Just to share a bit of trivia *

Beloved proposed to me on March 17, 2009.  It was a Tuesday night at Shakey's somewhere in Metro Manila.

It was after the biggest fight we had... It was a fight that almost led to us to part ways... Through God's intervention we talked and settled things out. After a lot of tears shed we realized that we really don't want to be apart. So after being in good terms again my beloved asked me if I want to marry him as soon as possible. Even if it would be a simple wedding (simple means: Civil Wedding). And of course I said YES! Hahaha!

We were actually talking about it even when we we were just starting our relationship, we prayed about it and we know for sure that the Lord brought us together for a purpose-- for His purpose!

We then agreed to get married on September 21, 2009, our first anniversary. But it didn't happen. God did not allow it to happen, because He has a purpose...

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.  "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. -Isaiah 55:8-9

As time goes by, He showed us that we have to wait for His timing-- His perfect timing! And so we changed plan, adjusted and prayed (and still praying) that the Lord will allow us to marry each other by the year 2012.

Going back on the proposal thing, a lot of people (myself included. hehe) have been asking-- "so where's the ring?" No ring yet my friends. Beloved assured me that it will follow soon. How soon? Only God knows. Hehe... He told me that night (March 17, 2009) that was not know how he imagined his proposal would be, but then it happened so he let it be...

Now I don't know if he's still planning to do a take two or what though I'm hoping he will, it still wouldn't matter if there would be one or none.. I'm okay with anything! :-)

That's it for now.

Bow.
